Party Time! + Japanese Art Festival

Hey gang! Hope life is going swell! :D

Last night was TONS of fun. It was my first time helping out with the 360 RED Crew and I had a great time. We basically just go to parties at ASU and hand out otter pops, donuts, and water and just hang out. Then I guess they also come by in the mornings and clean up afterward and make pancakes for everyone and all that haha. It sounds like a lot of fun.

So that was my Friday night. Then this morning/today I went to a Japanese art festival with Denisse Leon and then Kenedy, Christian, and Kylee (I'm sorry if I misspelled anyone's name). That was quite a good time! We danced some we watched some Japanese sword swinging, and then listened to some Japanese drumming, then watched some Japanese dances and even partook in the dancing ourselves!! :)

Then we went and picked up/cheered on the girls' parents, Michelle and Aaron Dunn. They were part of this awesome marathon in which they had 12 members on their running team and together, taking turns, ran a total of 200 miles over the course of about 40 hours! Each persons does about three sets of 6 miles throughout the day and night. It is CRAZY!

Well my fingers hurt from playing guitar so I'm going to stop typing :) have a good night my friends! I love you all and look forward to hearing from you soon! <3

Quick Update

This will be a quick update tonight because I'm tired and trying to get some Bible study time in but I don't want to leave you all hanging! :)

Today I met with Pastor Brad, Pastor Aaron, and Paige Garrett to talk about a few things.
Mainly Paige was talking to them about her story and some ideas she had and plans she wants to see come to pass.

Paige is an awesome lady. She has been really cool and really supportive. We went out to lunch today and she says that she wants to help mentor me and train me and help invest in my future. That sounds incredible to me. God knows I need all the help I can get! ;) haha so I know God is going to use this new friendship for His glory!

I have really enjoyed helping out at PFA and would LOOOVE to work there. The staff is incredible. Pastor Aaron and Michelle Dunn are really fun and cool! And Denisse Leon is such a rad girl with a heart for God! I am loving getting to learn from her and I am excited for all the fun that the four of us will hopefully have in the future!

I'll let you know more when I know more! :)

Love you all! Goodnight.

Twitter and Those Chinese Massages.

So this morning, Denisse help me set up a Twitter acount! If you want to follow me, my username is austinbeals57. Pretty simple. And....no. Do not ask me to explain to you how to use twitter. I barely use it myself so I will not teach you. Sorry, I love you, but don't ask.

<3 Also I practiced guitar today. This is what I have so far:

I talked to Carson Green today and that was super cool 'cause he's an awesome guy and I love him a lot!!

Last night, after I crawled into bed, I had this cool idea for a tv series but it is kind of "out there." It is about a present day super hero who randomly gets shot back into medieval times with swords, magic, and kingdoms. He has to simultaneously live these two lives as he uncontrollably gets transported two and from these two separate worlds. There would be certain parallels between the worlds like in the future world, his wife would be dead, but in this medieval would he is a part of now, one of the main female roles is played by the same actress as his wife. Little things like that, that will allure to a seemingly strong connection between these two worlds. If it was well-written and casted right, I'd watch it! :D
Also tonight we watched an interesting movie about a Chinese girl who has to make a living in a "massage parlor" in Chinatown New York, but she has too much dignity to fool around with the customers so she if forced to do all of the chores and labor. It is basically like a really weird Chinese Cinderella movie, but we all liked it! Very well done.

So that was my day! Hopefully I wake up tomorrow and can start a new one! :D

Goodnight!

'Ello Mates!

Today (and the past few days) have been pretty good!

I learned to play a song on guitar today. I learned Country Road Take Me Home. Great song. I originally picked it because it is slow so people wouldn't be able to notice how much time it takes me to switch between chords :) I realized a little bit ago how much relevance it holds toward my life.

I really do love Coeur d'Alene. It's home. Along with the surrounding area. I am REALLY enjoying my time here. And even if I stay longer, I am open for that too. But if I'm here for a few years, I'm still looking forward to going home.

There is something magical about when you find where you belong. Home is where your heart is and home is in the 208 :)

I've been spending the past few days helping out at PFA! I've been working with Denisse Leon. She's a really cool girl! She does all the graphics and web design work for PFA and she has a TON on her shoulders. It would be cool to help her with all of that work. I'll keep you guys updated on the job status. Right now, we're just trying to get a history established with me and the team so they have something to work off of when HR asks about me. They can't talk about how great of a worker I am if they've never worked with me! :)

Anyways, life is great. God is amazing. And I am SUPER stoked for the Kari Jobe concert coming up! That should be really cool. I will meet her and say Hi for my mom. Depending on how old she is, I might ask her on a date. Kari Beals...that has a nice ring to it! (Inside joke)  ;)

Hey guys! It's great talking to you! I miss you all and I hope to see you soon through skype or facebook chat! Alright, buh-bye friends!

So the big news...

So there's this "big news" I've been mentioning, and I kind of just want to get it out on the table.

I'm going to go Facebook-Public but I figured a slow introduction through my blog would be better. Nothing is absolute or definite, but I have been offered a possible position at Phoenix First Assemblies.

We have not worked out details, so I'm not sure if I would be full-time or part-time, but most likely I would be moving to Phoenix for a few more years.

I know this may be a total shock and I wasn't planning it when I left so I didn't really say goodbye to many of my friends and family because I knew that I would be back home soon. Well...maybe not?

Haha, we are going to decide something probably in the next few days. If it is for certain that my working here is mutually beneficial to both myself and PFA, and I feel God instructing me to stay here, then I will announce it on Facebook and start telling those close to me.

That's mostly what is on my mind tonight. So if you pray, please pray it goes well. If you don't pray, you really should. God is amazing and wants to be there for you and will NEVER let you down.

I love you all!! :) Goodnight!

BAM BOOM BANG!!

Hey. What's up? Agent Nightfire here. Why, yes. I am a secret agent. Why do you ask? Oh yes, I do know how to use various firearms. Oh, you don't believe me? Would you like proof? Take note though: this is top secret government information and if you spread it, I will slit your throat. Mind you, I will do it out of love and loyalty to my country. Nothing personal, it's just business. :)

So, this is how I spent my day!

Mucho divertido! (Or as my white friends say, "Very fun!")

Also, I have taken up quite a fancy for classical music. Mostly Mozart. As I type this I am currently enjoying Mozart's #40 in G Minor. Exquisitely lovely if I do say so myself. Oh, and I do say so myself.
Powerful guns and classical music have been my forte for the day! (Pun very well intended)

:)

This message will self destruct in 99...98...97...96...

Ignite Phoenix 9!!

Tonight we went to an interesting show entitled Ignite Phoenix 9 (it was the ninth annual show).

It was pretty cool. 18 people had five minutes to talk about their passion. They had a certain amount of slides and the slides were timed to move on every few seconds automatically. It was kind of interesting.

Tonight we heard different people talk about some of the following:

  • Kinky Hair
  • Star Wars Conventions
  • Arizona Wine
  • Saving the Assyrian Christians in Iraq
  • Lice
  • Neuroscience and its relation to magic
  • Stray dogs
  • Dating amongst a zombie apocalypse
  • 3D printers
  • Women brewing draft beer
  • Fighting MS
  • The bond formed between members of an Improv team
  • Etc.
I'm not sure what my passion would be...
...Honestly, I would probably get up there and talk about my passion for pursuing my many passions. I couldn't pick one but I could sure do a great job of encouraging my audience to get active and find what they love to do!

Again, I might have some big news for you all, but I won't really be able to say until Sunday night.

I love you all so very much and I can't express how much your support means to me!

BIG STUFF HAPPENING.

WOW! Pastor's School was incredible! God truly opened my eyes to some huge things in my life.
I realized that I have been burying my passion for the arts for a while. I've always thought of my desire for acting, directing, writing, etc. as something that is fun, but not as something that could be used by God. He has just really shown me some light.

He is an amazing God, Hallelujah! :D

I met some really cool people these past few days and was really awakened spiritually! Including an interesting experience with the Holy Spirit.

I was also given an interesting offer by a new friend/mentor of mine...I don't know details yet and I don't want to get ahead of myself so I will talk to you all about it once I know more!

I love you all and miss you and I can't wait until I see you all again! <3  :)

AHHHGOODABULITIMAMA!!!

That is Australian Aborigin-ese for "Today was a good day!"

Please...do not quote me on that.
No, but seriously I had a good time today! Phoenix First had Pastor's School and I got to work at a booth and got to meet some cool new people (Jean, Stephanie, Brett, Michelle, and a few others).

Got to talk with Pastor Aaron Dunn for a bit. He's a really cool guy! Hopefully we get to hang out and talk in the future!

I also got to hang out with Dwight and Jesse some more. We had some good laughs at the Fervent booth and that was a lot of fun.

今日は本当に照り焼き良い食べた
That is Japanese for, "I ate some really good teriyaki chicken today!"
Yeah that stuff was real good. Either that, or I was just really really hungry...

...yeah, I was pretty darn hungry.

Random shout out to Hannah Wytree 'cause she reminded to keep posting on my blog. Hey girl! Howyadoin'?? :D

I learned quite a few things today. I learned that I want to really get serious about learning to play guitar and piano. I am 78% sure that I want to take a sign-language class at NIC when I get back. Also, I decided that I really need to start learning more about the internet, web design, graphic design, and all the different marketable skills that will help me in the future.

Then, the three of us went to GLAM! That was pretty fun. If any of you watch the show Glee, you would have loved GLAM! They wrote their own script and acted it out and had live songs and dancing and scenes and it was funny and entertaining. It was pretty cool!
Definitely makes me want to do more fun production back in Cda. I'll have to talk to Pastor Mike about that one...   :)

Anyways, I'm excited for the next few months and all that I will learn and do and see and be!!

And I am also excited to come back home and see all my friends and hang out with them once again!
I love you all and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Peace out!

Busy Two Days Up Ahead!

Wow! There is a LOT that goes into this Pastor's School at Phoenix First!

Tomorrow and Wednesday I'm working at a booth from 8 AM to 2 PM. Then the rest of the time I get to go to workshops and hang out and listen to the awesome messages!

I kind of have a head ache so I don't feel like writing a whole bunch but I felt like I should post at least something letting you guys know I'm alive and well! :)

Thanks for all the support. There is a lot of stuff I'm thinking about and trying to figure out in life. I think I need to spend more time intentionally resting haha well...after I get some more work done.

I look forward to hearing from all of you guys! Feel free to call me or e-mail me!

Talk to you soon,
-Austin.

Chaos in The Middle East!

Blah blah blah! The way I see it, everybody has a problem with somebody. It's all old news. I've often thought about going into politics because I like people and I desire to make a change. Plus I think government should be more fun :)

But it always seems like the same thing over and over. No matter how much you learn and discern and study and read, there will always be a large amount of people that disagree with you. Everything is so black and white! Either you're red or blue, right or left, pro-choice or pro-life, pro-war or anti-war. It seems like in order to play the game you need to pick a side. At least in higher up politics.
I think...I will become Mayor of Coeur d'Alene. Yup. Before I am 30, I will become Mayor. Later in life, I want to become an Ambassador to a South American country but for now, Mayor will do!

If you have any suggestions for my campaigning, feel free to leave a comment below!

Yours truly,
Future Mayor of Coeur d'Alene, Austin L. Beals

Run Forrest! Run!

Hey! You guessed it! I went on a run today! I finally forced myself to get some exercise beyond yoga and cellercising. Don't get me wrong, Cellercising has been great! I've lost ten pounds since being here but it is time to step it up!

I got some great reading time today! Reading the book Grooming the Next Generation for Success has inspired me to start reading the entire Bible. I've never done it before and Dani makes a good point. We usually just pick and choose our favorites and then listen to the advice from people who are paid to give us Biblical instruction and guidance. I love pastors! But we should be responsible for our own growth and I believe it is time for me to read the entire Bible for myself rather than simply listen to others who have.

Apparently there are some pastors who have never read the Bible cover to cover. I find that disturbing. They spend usually at least four years in school and not one read the Bible cover to cover? No. Instead they read commentaries on the Bible from other men. I don't agree with that. Commentaries are great! I use a study Bible and it has TONS of notes and commentaries and different thoughts and viewpoints! It's wonderful! But ultimately, I'm still reading the Holy Word of the Most High and not the earthly word of some guy. (rhyme intended)  :)

So that's what I started yesterday and continued the today. I'm a big fan of the big Gen.

Also, I started working on the script for The Hikist. Should be pretty funny! :D

Sorry 'bout dat! / The Cut.

Yesterday Blogger wasn't letting me post an update so my apologies for that!
Yesterday I actually got a lovely haircut! Usually when I get my hair cut short, I'm not a big fan but Jonathan did a great job! I knoooow you really want to see a bunch of pictures of me so, as a genie, I'll grant that wish...SHAZAAM!

Yeah. I know. Real. Nice. :)

Apparently my little bro had a basketball game today!! SUUUPER proud of that little stuffin (stud muffin). I love him a lot. He makes me happy!

Recently, I've started watching the show Psych. I really like it!! :D

Also, the grand'rents and I just finished watching Food Inc. That is an interesting movie!

If you haven't seen it, then I suggest you do! It's a very well done documentary. I enjoyed it a lot and I encourage you all to shop organically and equally important locally. Go to farmers' markets!.....like me and my Baa :)

Alright guys, until next time...this is Baustin, signing out!
